Using SMS Voice

This method sends the text message or voice call via an SMS gateway. This is the traditional way to send text messages, and is the preferred method. It does not require you to collect the contacts mobile carrier.

To use the SMS/Voice/Short Code Service, you must have an active support agreement, and request an SMS phone number from BBL to be added to your account.

Getting started

An SMS 'long number' will be assigned to the shop by BBL to send transnational (one-off) text messages.

Note: The shop must request SMS service via a eMail to support@bblsystems.com . Please include the shop email address for the SMS replies. This service is included in your BBL Services Agreement. 300 SMS/Short Code messages are included. Additional may be purchased from BBL.

  1. First, insure that a support agreement is active by going to Help->About.
  2. Send a email to support@bblsystems.com.
  3. Include a email where Replies should be sent
  4. It can take a few days to get the SMS set up. The support ticket will be updated indicating that the process is complete.
  5. Once it is complete, go to Help->Unlock Options, and choose Automatically via the internet. This will update the ProfitSystem with the SMS and Short code details.

If any customer wishes NOT to receive SMS messages select NO SMS via the SMS alert dropdown found on Customer, Prospect & Appointment forms.

Using SMS, Voice, Short Code Service

When entering a Customer, Prospect or Appointment, ask the customer if it's Ok to send them SMS messages. If not, set the SMS Alerts? fields to NO SMS.

Then, send a single SMS message by clicking the Print, Email and SMS button on the Prospect, Customer, or Appointment form.

Bulk SMS messages can be sent via the Marketing form, using SMS or by email.

The Automation system can also send SMS alerts via SMS or Voice.

If the customer replies to the text message the response will be emailed to the shop using the email address on-file via the Customer Portal.

SMS templates may be created at menu Setup-> Letters/tags/mailing labels-> SMS
