Signature Capture

Signature Capture lets the customer sign documents using a mouse, touch pad, touch screen, tablet., or credit card terminal The signed document can be printed and is also saved on the sales ticket. A signature can be captured on a receipt and also at item pickup.

If ChargeItPro on a terminal is enabled for a register, then the credit card terminal will be used to capture the signature.
If not, the signature will be captured on-screen using the mouse, touchpad, or touch screen.

Enable signature capture for each register that will use it

  1. Go to Housekeeping->General Setup->Register Setup or Setup->General Setup->Register Setup.
  2. Select the Register by clicking on it.
  3. Click on the Details tab, then check 'Use Signature Capture?' and click Save.
  4. Repeat for any other Registers you wish to enable Signature Capture for.

Capture a signature on receipt

  1. On the ticket, click the Receipt button
  2. When it asks 'Signature capture?' answer Yes.
  3. It will display the receipt on-screen for the customer to review. The customer must accept the receipt.
  4. The customer can then sign
  5. The signature is printed directly on the receipt, and the receipt is saved as a PDF with the signature.
  6. The signed receipt is saved to the customer ticket and can be viewed by clicking the Extra button and choosing Signed Documents. The signed documents buttons also appears on the Customer form, and on the Member tab of the Event form.

Capture a signature at item pickup

  1. On the ticket, click the Item Status button.
  2. For the item status, select 'Pickup Now'
  3. When it asks 'Signature capture?' say Yes.
  4. The customer can then sign
  5. The pickup receipt is printed with the signature. (Pickup Receipt is defined in pickupretail.frx/frt files which may be optionally customized)
  6. The signed pickup receipt is saved to the customer ticket and can be viewed by clicking the Extra button and choosing Signed Documents. The signed documents buttons also appears on the Customer form, and on the Member tab of the Event form.

When using signature capture without a credit card terminal, the customer will have to sign on the screen, using a mouse, touchpad, or touch screen.

  • Remote desktop client on Windows with touch screen: The customer can sign onscreen using a stylus or finger.
  • Remote desktop client on Windows without touch screen: The customer must use a mouse or touchpad to sign
  • Remote desktop client on Windows tablet: The customer can sign onscreen using a stylus or finger.
  • Remote desktop client on Mac: The customer must use a mouse or touchpad to sign
  • Remote desktop client on Android tablet: The customer can sign onscreen using a stylus or finger. They may have to touch the screen and pause before signing.
  • Remote desktop client on Apple tablet: The customer can sign onscreen using a stylus or finger. They may have to touch the screen and pause before signing.
  • RocketProfitServer or similar implementation via HTML5/browser on Apple tablet: The customer can sign onscreen using a stylus or finger. They may have to touch the screen and pause without lifting their finger before signing.
  • RocketProfitServer or similar implementation via HTML5/browser on Android tablet: The customer can sign onscreen using a stylus or finger. They may have to touch the screen and pause without lifting their finger before signing.
  • RocketProfitServer or similar implementation via HTML5/browser on Windows tablet: The customer can sign onscreen using a stylus or finger. They may have to touch the screen and pause without lifting their finger before signing.
  • TSPlus Android Client App via Playstore: The customer can sign onscreen using a stylus or finger. They may have to touch the screen and pause without lifting their finger before signing.
  • Installed ProfitSystem on computer with touch screen: The customer can sign onscreen using a stylus or finger.
  • Installed ProfitSystem on computer with no touch screen: The customer can sign onscreen using a stylus or finger.

The filenames are

01124286-PICKUP-20180730154412.pdf
01124286-RECEIPT-20180730154026.pdf

The first part is the ticket number, followed by PICKUP or RECEIPT. The last part is a time stamp.

The folder will contain PDF files (signed documents) and BMP and PNG, which are the raw captures signatures. The signatures are named the same way as the PDF files
