Topaz Signature Capture

Client side:

Please download and run the following: http://www.topazsystems.com/Software/sigsockclient.exe

To verify that this installed properly, on the client computer please browse to C:\ and you should see the following two entries: SigSock or Sigsock.bat Windows Batch File SigSock or Sigsock.exe Application

Server side - Part 1

  1. Please log into Server using an RDC (Remote Desktop Connection) as an Administrator.
  2. Download and save the following .exe to your desktop of your Server http://www.topazsystems.com/Software/sigsockinstall.exe
  3. From a CMD line, type “Change user /install” to enter “Install mode”.
  4. Right click the “sigsockinstall.exe” from your desktop of your Server and left click 'Run as Administrator' to install the sigsockinstall.exe.
  5. After installing, from CMD line, type “Change user /execute” or restart server to place server back into “Execute mode” before using the application.
  6. To verify that this installed properly, on the server computer please browse to following location: C:\Windows\SigPlus\Tools\SigSock
  7. You should see the following entry: SigSock or Sigsock.exe Application
  8. Disconnect your RDP session using the Admin account.

Server side - Part 2

  1. Please log into Server using an RDC (Remote Desktop Connection) using the User's account (Non-admin)
  2. In the remote session, please download the following .exe to the Server: www.topazsystems.com/software/winloc.exe
  3. Run “Winloc.exe” from the server's desktop
  4. Left click the word “WINDOWS”, and at the bottom it will tell you the path to the Windows folder that is specific to your current log-in.
    1. It will be something like 'C:\Users\UserName\Windows' or a mapped drive like 'H:\Windows'.
  5. Copy the Sigplus.ini from 'C:\Windows\' and place it into the folder specified by Winloc.
  6. You will then need to place a copy of the SigPlus.ini into the equivalent folder for each user’s login that will be using the pad on the server.
  7. You will need to add two values to the SigPlus.ini file(s):
    1. TabletIpAddress= is the local (Internal) IP address of the server.
    2. TabletPortPath= is an identifier that must be unique per user. The most common value to use here is the login name or the name of the folder where the SigPlus, but you are free to use a different value, as long as it’s unique.
    3. Please connect from your Client to your Server using the customer's account (no admin).
    4. While logged in and in the User's remote session, please open a command prompt and type ipconfig. Once you have the IP address, please close the command prompt.

The top portion of your updated SigPlus.ini should look something like this:

Steps on how to SigSock 1. Please connect from your client to you server and on the client (not server), open a command prompt and type in: c:\SigSock.exe SERVERIP PORTPATH 6 1. SERVERIP is the IP address of the server. In a local network, this is the server's local IP address. When connecting to the Internet, this is the server's external IP address. 1. PORTPATH is the TabletPortPath value used in the SigPlus.ini on the server. This is case sensitive. 4. For example (local network):

  1. Leave this prompt running while you want to use the signature pad with an application that has been launched from the server. *** Closing this prompt ceases the signature pad’s communication with the server. ***

Once you have finished the above steps, with your SigSock connection running on your client PC, please disconnect and reconnect your Terminal services connection via your User account, then open and try to sign in demo ocx.

  1. Locate and open the shortcut for demo ocx on your desktop. It will be the icon with a little yellow gem and gray box around it If you are unable to locate the shortcut on your desktop, you can locate the program by browsing to the following location: C:\WINDOWS\SigPlus\demoocx.exe
  2. Plug your pad in if it is not already plugged in
  3. Click the start button in the Topaz SigPlus Demonstration and try to sign on your pad
  4. If you see writing in the white field in Topaz SigPlus Demonstration window than your pad is working properly.
