Store Groups
Action: STOREGRP
A featured for the optional Multi-store module.
Store/Account Groups use are optional.
Once Groups are created and assigned to Store(s) or Wholesale accounts, the behavior of ProfitSystem will immediately change, as described within this topic.
The form allows for the creation, modification and deletion of Store Group codes.
Overview
In optional multi-store implementations, retail inventory styles and details like quantity on hand can be seen for each store location for each style, size, color combination across all stores.
The Store Group provides two important features:
Allows Retail inventory and Stores to be assigned a GROUP code. Registers are assigned to a store with a Group Code. Inventory can be assigned a Group Code. Only Terminals / Registers of the same inventory Store Group can see (in inventory maintenance or any inventory lookup) or sell that inventory.
Another feature is that Employee Time Clock entries, of the optional Time Clock module, can be edited from a Store Register assigned to a store of the same Store Group as the Store Register store where the employee clocked in.
Security
The ViewStore security action obeys Store Groups. This means a user with ViewStore can see and report on stores of the same group as the Register / Terminal s/he is logged into, i.e. Example: a Register assigned to Store Group 01 can also see data within any other store assigned to Store Group 01.
AllStores security action is like ViewStores but allows the user to see data across all stores irregardless of the Store Group Assigned.
