Using SMS via Email
When entering a Customer, Prospect or Appointment be sure to ask the customer for their mobile carrier and enter it in the SMS Alerts field. If the contact doesn't want to receive SMS messages select NO SMS.
Send a single SMS message by clicking the Print, Email and SMS button on the Prospect, Customer, or Appointment form.
Bulk SMS messages can be sent via the Marketing form.
The Automation system can also send SMS alerts. If using Automation, the CM (Communications Manager) program must be running for Automation SMS/Voice/Short code messages to be sent.
When the store has entered a mobile phone number in Store form then the SMS will use that method for sending SMS messages INSTEAD of entering each customers cell phone service provider. This approach is metered, since the cell carriers charge a fee for SMS messages. 300 messages are included in a BBL Service Agreement, but more may be purchased if needed. Alternatively, not entering a cell phone number (provided by BBL), and capturing each customer's cell service provider, unlimited SMS messages may be sent free of charge.
