TLS and SSL Errors

ProfitSystem integrates with many online services. Many of these services require specific security configurations, such as certain TLS levels.

As of August 2018, ChargeItPro, Payware, Authorize.net, ProfitSystem SMS service, and others require TLS 1.2. Windows 7, and Server 2012 and later use TLS 1.2 by default. Earlier operating systems such as Server 2008 R2 support TLS 1.2, but may use TLS 1.0 instead.

To force these operating systems to use TLS 1.2 Go to Control Panel->Internet Options->Advanced Tab and un-select SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0, TLS 1.0, and TLS 1.1. Make sure only TLS 1.2 is selected.

You can also force TLS 1.2 via Group Policy

Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Internet Explorer > Internet Control Panel > Advanced Page > Turn Off Encryption Support: Enabled, Only use TLS 1.2
