Appointment Type

Appointment Types define the details of appointments. Appointment Types are required.
The Skill enter on the Appointment Type form allows only Sales Associates or Resource with a matching skill to be assigned to a customer with this appointment type.
Fields
Type...A unique name for the appointment type.
Description...A longer description for this type.
Starts, Ends...If this appointment type only applies to a certain time frame/date range, enter the dates here.
Always active?...If this appointment type applies all the time, check this box. You cannot check this box and have a start and end date.
Sales Type Appointment?... Can this appointment type be considered an opportunity to sell to the customer? The optional Sales Performance report module counts of sales type appointments for calculating close ratios.
Script...The script that the user should read when creating the appointment. The text entered here can be displayed be pressing the Script button on the Appointment form. See Appointment alerts as another method to have a message read to the customer.
Skills...The SA or Resource skill required to perform this appointment. The skill entered here must match the skill on a SA or Resource before it may be assigned to the appointment with this appointment type.
Start times...Enter times separated by commas. These are the times that this appointment should start. For example, an appointment with a 60 minute duration and the shop accepting these appointment starting at 10am with the last appointment accepted at 5pm with a 1 hour 12noon lunch break would be: 10am,11am,1pm, 2pm, 3,pm, 4pm, 5pm. Users will see these preferred start times when attempting to book this appointment type. The user may override the start time when booking the appointment, if necessary.
The start times entered become the Time Slots for this appointment type. This is a is very important concept when the shop wishes to book against a time slot vs a specific Sales Associate or Resource. Duration...The appointments duration in minutes.
Captions for Misc fields on Appointment 1-4...The captions specified here will be carried over to the four Misc fields on the Appointment form. You would use these if you want to capture special information specific to an appointment type on the appointment form. Example: 'Will mother be present (Yes/No)'
