Split Payments
Sales -> Split Payment
Spit payment provides the ability to take one payment & portions of the payment may be easily spread across multiple customer sales tickets. It is a time saver and error reducing feature. A great example is where a mother may wish to pay a portion of each girl's bridesmaids dress or a groom wishing to pay the balance of his groomsmen. Typically split payments are created for Events such as wedding events. However single or multiple individual customers may be selected to split a payment across, as well.
Once the payment is processed, a receipt may be printed that will list the customers, tickets and payment amounts. Terms and a signature may be captured with the receipt, like a standard receipt.
On the Split Payment form, select an event and the system will list all tickets linked to the event with a balance greater than 0. The payment amount will default to the ticket's balance. Simply overwrite the payment amount with any amount up to the balance.. As this is done by the User, the system will total the payment amounts entered and display the total "To Pay" at the bottom of the grid.
Upon clicking the Next button, the system will display the standard payment form where the amount to pay will equal the payment amounts entered in the Split payment form, where the tender type is selected and payment processed. Next the system will prompt for a optional receipt to be printed. If printed, the terms may be selected and signature captured. A copy of receipt is stored in the Signature log of each ticket that received a portion of the split payment.
Note: A receipt copy will not be saved and the split payment receipt will not be available for reprinting later if the User does not choose to print a split payment receipt with signature when the split payment is completed. If receipt with signature is chosen it may be printed and a copy will be stored with each ticket where a payment was applied. If may be recalled on each Customer's receipt under the Signature hyperlink menu option.
The payment amount entered for each ticket may be a different amount.
