Quick Sale
Customers -> Quick Sale button link
Typically customer demographic information, such as name, email, phone and address, is captured when a sales receipt is being created. However in some circumstances, the shop may not need or want to capture that customer information. Thus the Quick Sale function is utilized. In general the Quick Sale process is a fast check-out since little or no Customer profile entry is required.
The Quick Sale functions the same as creating a regular receipt except the receipt balance must be PAID IN FULL (Zero/0)and the item(s) being sold must be set to a status of PICK-UP. Meaning the customer is leaving with the merchandise.
When a Quick Sale ticket has a balance, you will not be able to leave the ticket until it has a zero balance.
The Quick Sale creation process does not require the user to enter any demographic information concerning the customer, however a small form is displayed allowing the User to optionally enter customer name, email, phone and address.. Since all receipts must be linked to a Customer entry, an entry will automatically be created with a customer name of NOT GIVEN when. no email or phone number is entered on the short form.
Later when the Quick Sale receipt may need to be recalled, the user could search Customers for the Not Given customer name. Then click Ticket link on the Customer's profile to see a chronologically list of Quick Sale receipts created and linked. This could be a long list.
Alternatively tickets may be located by ticket number via the Customer search function or running a sales report for vendor or category for the approximate sales date to identify the ticket number. When possible it is always best to enter as much Customer information as possible for easiest recall.
**Tip: ** When creating a Quick Sale, the User has the option to enter a customer name, email and phone. If left blank or with no email or phone number entered, the system will add the ticket to a generic Customer called Not Given. Any Quick Sale ticket may be recalled by accessing the Not Given customer. If an email or phone is optionally entered during the Quick Sale ticket creation, then the system will attempt to locate an existing Customer matching the email or phone. If found the Quick Sale ticket will be linked to that customer. If a Customer does not exist with that email or phone, then a new one will be created and the Quick sale ticket is linked to that customer.
