This interactive report is a total of taxes realized for the filter, grouped by non-taxable and Tax Rate 1 & 2. And also includes sales that were not marked as sales taxable (non-taxed, i.e. 0% tax rate). Tax rates are set within the Store Settings.

Taxes are realized when the Revenue of the sale is realized as reported on the Daily Report. The Revenue realized setting is chosen in System Settings.

This is a short report and could be attached to a sales tax reporting document when justification is required.

The report's taxable section includes Tax rate, Date, category, department, sales amount taxed and tax amount.

The non-taxed section includes date, category. department and net sales.

Owners and Operations Managers may make manual edits to past customer receipt SALE or PAYMENT transactions. These edits could affect sale tax for the current period, so please be aware of the effects of the edits to current totals.

Filters

Store ... Limit to inventory located in all stores or selected stores.

Sale start/end Date range ... The beginning to ending sales transaction dates. This limits the report just to the transactions that occurred within that time frame, say a day or week or month period.

Sort Type (None, Category or Department) ... Sort selection:

  • NONE will group total sales by Tax rate and total sales/taxes by rate. Tax rates (The system supports up to two tax rate (VAT) percentages).
  • CATEGORY sort will group and total sales & taxes by Category and tax rate. within Category.
  • DEPARTMENT sort will group and total sales & taxes by Department and tax rate. within Department. (Use of Departments is optional)

Run Detail button ... Displays report, listing each transaction that the grouping (based on sort selected) sales & tax totals are comprised of.

Run Summary button ... Displays report, listing just the sales & their tax totals for each grouping sort selected.

Export to eXcel ... Exports the report in detail mode creating TWO workbooks. One workbook for TAXABLE and the other for NON-TAXABLE transactions.
