Mark Pickup Taken

Customers may purchase inventory items that could be sold from stock, but kept in the store's storage area or special ordered which will eventually received and stored. EverywhereBridal/Prom/Retail refers to customer merchandise held in store storage as Pickup Inventory.

It is the responsibility for the store to accurately manage the Pickup Inventory. Knowing the current value of the pickup inventory for insurance purposes or knowing what merchandise belongs to which customer and whether it is in storage or not within a few seconds, reduces stress and improves the customer experience.

The system provides tools for managing the Pickup Inventory. These tools include tracking a customer's merchandise status (found on the SALES transaction of the customer's ticket/receipt) including:

  • Date Received (which is date placed in storage)
  • Date Taken (date the customer took from store)
  • Date Returned (Date customer brings item back to store for additional storage)

Also the ability to print merchandise Pickup ID tags/labels, called Pickup-Tags from the SALES ticket TRANSACTION editor. Pickup ID tags/Labels may also be printed from Special Order RECEIVE function when the merchandise is received from a Special Order. These tags are attached to the merchandise for storage within the store. This makes it much easier to locate the merchandises for a specific customer when they come to pick it up.

Finally the Pickup Inventory listing report and this Mark Taken function are important to Pickup Inventory management.

WorkFlow

Print ID Pickup tag/labels and attach to the merchandise when merchandise sold from stock or received. EverywhereBridal/Prom/Retail includes a choice of tag formats the shop may print.

Often times shops print two ID Tags, one with the customer's name owning the merchandise, so in the case of a bridesmaid party, each dress has the correct customer's name attached for organization.

The Pickup Inventory customer ID tags/labels includes customer information as well as the merchandise item's unique ID number printed in text and bar-code formats (bar-code is 3of9 symbology).

The ID tags usually would have a signature line where the customer may sign when picking up the merchandise. Most shops would remove the signed ID tag for proof of the customer satisfaction with the merchandise and documented proof of the pick up.

Upon Pick-up shops wish to insure the balance is paid for the merchandise so they would visit the customer ticket for review.

The item may be MARKED TAKEN from the SALES transaction detail form by clicking the MARK TAKEN menu option, which in turn inserts the current date into the DATE TAKEN field of the merchandise transaction. With Digital Signature turned on, the system will prompt for the customer to sign for taking the merchandise. A disclaimer appears stating the customer is signing for taking the merchandise and satisfied with it's condition.

Oftentimes the shop is busy and may not wish to immediately visit the ticket for marking the item taken. In that case, the Pickup Tag/label would be signed and removed from the item and placed in designated area until the items are Marked Taken, either from the Ticket's SALES transaction form or from this Mark Taken function.

This Mark Taken function allows for fast batch marking of items taken. It requires a system printed Pickup tag/label to have been printed, since the document contains the unique id code of the merchandise.

Mark Taken

Visit this form an enter or scan the unique item number. Upon entry of the merchandise ID printed on the Pickup Tag id, the system will display the customer name, merchandise detail, ticket balance and the current date for the Date taken.

Click SAVE, this will MARK the merchandise taken by automatically entering a Date Taken date of the current date onto the merchandise ticket edit page. This step will remove merchandise from the Pickup Inventory listing report.
