How do I sell an item not in my Inventory

How do I sell something not in my inventory

Generally, the style code you enter should appear in your Styles Inventory to be able to sell it. The Style of the item you wish to order must have a inventory style entered in EB Retail Inventory. You do NOT have to have a quantity on hand(QOH) but the style must be there. This way the system knows the vendor the order is for, the vendors style number, the category(department) and the the correct cost for the order. Once the style is in your inventory, then you can sell the item to the customer.

However, in some circumstances a store may wish to sell miscellaneous items that their styles were not created within the inventory. These items can only be sold from stock, not special ordered or placed in Pickup / Lay-Away.

Once on a customer's receipt / ledger, click SALE and for the style enter NOSTYLE to sell an item where it's style is not entered into the computer's inventory.

Optionally, later you would go back and switch the NOSTYLE to the correct inventory style on the customer's ticket once you have had time to input the correct inventory style into the system. This is required if the item needs to be Special Ordered.

All sales of NOSTYLE will all total under the NOSTYLE style & category on Sales and inventory reports.
